A plain-language summary of how we handle a school's data. It isn't a substitute for the agreement your school signs with us.

Whose data, and why

Edmira is used by schools to run their day-to-day operations. A school's administrators add staff, students, and guardians, and the platform stores the records needed to provide the service — profiles, enrolment, attendance, marks, fees, and messages between staff and families. The school is the owner of this data; Edmira processes it on the school's behalf.

How your data is kept separate

Each school's data is isolated from every other school. A user only ever sees the information their role permits within their own school. We do not sell data, and we do not use student data for advertising.

Where it lives

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure. For AI features we use providers that keep processing within India where possible, in keeping with India's data-protection expectations for children's data.

Sensitive information

We deliberately collect only what a school needs to operate. Highly sensitive national identifiers are not required to use the platform.

Retention & access

Records are retained while a school uses the service and for a reasonable period afterward. Requests to access, correct, or delete data are handled through the school, which decides what its records contain.
